Sebenarnya Red Grandis, lengkapnya Eucalyptus Grandis sudah dipasarkan di Indonesia sebelum tahun 2010. Hal ini diungkapkan oleh Sales Manager Indonesia Urufor SA, Fuad Adikusuma dalam percakapan dengan Redaksi WoodNews Indonesia. Red grandis merupakan produk kayu keras yang sepenuhnya berasal dari perkebunan di Uruguay, Amerika Selatan. Kayu ini dipanen saat berusia 25 tahun dengan diameter dikisaran 55-60 centimeter.  Seluruh produk Red Grandis sudah memiliki setifikat FSC sejak tahun 2001 sehingga memudahkan manufaktur pengguna jika hendak mengekspor produk-produk jadinya ke manapun. “Kayu keras ini bisa digunkana untuk beragam aplikasi, indoor dan outdoor,” ungkap Fuad. Sejak awal hingga kini, Red Grandis diperkenalkan sebagai kayu keras alternatif bagi kayu serupa yang berasal dari hutan tropis. Last month, Red Dot Design Museum plays host to a showcase of the next generation of design talent. A curation of designs from the original London Exhibition, Discovered Singapore presents a visionary group of young creatives in an extraordinary showcase of furniture, objects and sculptural works in wood. Discovered Singapore provides a platform for new creatives and an opportunity for talented emerging designers to showcase their work to the public and the industry at Singapore’s premier design venue. Selected from the original global line up of 20, the 10 designers exhibiting in Singapore this May worked alongside design mentors and AHEC’s global manufacturing partners to each develop an object made from their choice of four sustainable hardwoods: American red oak, cherry and hard and soft maple. Setelah sekian tahun vakuum dalam berkegiatan di Indonesia, American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) mengadakan seminar untuk pertama kalinya. Bekerja sama dengan Asosiasi Industri Permebelan dan Kerajinan Indonesia (Asmindo) menyelenggarakan Seminar Understanding EUDR and American Hardwood di Grand Ballroom, Hotel Vivere,Gading Serpong, Tangerang, pada 29 April lalu. Dalam sambutan pembukaan, Ketua Umum Asmindo Dedy Rochimat menyebutkan pihaknya mentargetkan penguasaan pasar 1% dari total nilai pasar global yang mencapai USD766 Milyar pada tahun 2024 ini. Nilai pasar ini meningkat dari tahun lalu yang hanya mencapai USD729 Milyar.
