AHEC and Hendro Hadinata Present the KARANA Collection at IDW 2025

The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) is delighted to be collaborating with leading Indonesian designer Hendro Hadinata, unveiling the KARANA Collection at Indonesia Design Week (IDW), September 2025. Drawing on the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which means harmony between people, nature and spirit, Hadinata has created three striking furniture pieces: the Kuta Bench, Sanur Lounge Chair, and Ubud Light. Inspired by the sculptural works of Ida Bagus Nyana in the 1930s, the collection blends elongated, flowing forms with contemporary function, offering design that is both culturally rooted and globally resonant. What makes this collaboration unique is Hadinata’s fresh engagement with American hardwoods. Perusahaan Sains ramah lingkungan dari Korea Selatan ini telah membangun industri poliuretan berkualitas tertinggi di Asia Tenggara untuk pasar global. Perang dagang, tepatnya perang tarif yang dimulai oleh Presiden Amerika Serikat Donal Trump memasuki babak baru. Ada peredaan ketegangan untuk nyaris semua negara target selama 90 hari, namun tidak dengan Republik Rakyat Tiongkok. Terhadap produsen global ini, Trump malah mengenakan bea impor sebesar 145%, dan Tiongkok pun membalas dengan mengenakan tarif sebesar 125% terhadap semua produk asal Amerika Serikat. Reaffirming Southeast Asian Partnerships

March was a busy month for the American Hardwood Council (AHEC) as it kicked off 2025 by reaffirming partnerships in Southeast Asia. HAWA Expo AHEC participated in the HAWA Expo, held from 4 to 7 March 2025 at the White Palace, Hồ Chí Minh City. AHEC representatives were visited by representatives from the US Consulate General and US Department of Agriculture; as well as members from the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA) and Association of Vietnam Timber and Forest Product (VIFORES). The kick-off event for the Hoa Mai Design Award 2025 AHEC Regional Director of Greater China and Southeast Asia John Chan said, “Vietnam has always been and continues to be an important market for AHEC. It is fitting that we kickstarted the year here. Ruri Kaiseki from Takeda Katsuta Design

Takeda Katsuya Design studio has recently completed an excellent project, the exclusive Ruri Kaiseki, a fine dining restaurant that celebrates the authenticity of Japanese dishes, located in the heart of Naples, just a short walk from Piazza dei Martiri. The restaurant is the result of a collaboration between an Italian entrepreneur, who decided to embark on a journey to explore Japanese culinary roots, and architect Takeda Katsuya, known for his ability to integrate traditional elements with modern aesthetics. The project, initiated in 2023, transformed the space into an environment where every detail tells a story, from the choice of materials to the furnishings and lighting, which evoke the sophisticated and intimate atmosphere typical of Japanese culture.
